TACTA is a training organisation based in the West Midlands. We offer training in Transactional Analysis and Integrative psychotherapy and counselling as well as a varied diary of short courses and workshops.

We also have a satellite training centre in North Wales which is currently offering short courses and workshops on a number of subjects relevant to counselling & psychotherapy.

TACTA has two Training Directors and also various Training Associates who teach on particular subjects and courses.   Staff biographies will be updated regularly.

Julia Tolley TSTA (P)

Psychotherapist, Supervisor, Trainer and Coach – CTA (P), TSTA (P) – UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and Supervisor, BACP Accred, BPS by qualification, MCIPD. 

Julia has a practice in the West Midlands and in Manchester, she is Support Tutor and Supervisor to several Universities and Training establishments. A background in HR Mgt and Strategic Change, supporting people and organisational development, latterly Supervising Safeguarding teams, specialist clinicians, Child and Adult Psychotherapists and Supervisors as well as being Primary Course Tutor, Psychotherapy at a Training Institute in Manchester.

Co-founder of TACTA – Transactional Analysis Central Training Association, Julia is passionate about growth and development of people, “from Acorns Oak trees grow” is her Philosophy.

We have a central ethos in our Organisation of Social Responsibility and Inclusion. Doing what’s right really matters to us.

Rachel Curtis TSTA (P)

Rachel is an experienced trainer, supervisor and psychotherapist with nearly 20 years experience in the field of counselling and psychotherapy.   She has previously ran a training institute in North Wales, was a lecturer on the Counselling Faculty for Hugh Baird College & University.  She specialises in training therapists to work with children & young people, gender and sexual diversity and recovery from abuse and trauma.  

She is trained in EMDR, CBT, Brief Solutions Focused practice and person centred practice as well as Transactional Analysis. 

Rachel has a supervision practice working with practitioners from various modalities as well as supporting TA trainees to CTA and PTSTAs through to TSTA. Her private practice website is
